What is Trade Assurance coverage?
In the past, there are two types of coverage of Trade Assurance orders: Pre-shipment Coverage and Post-delivery Coverage.
If you choose pre-shipment coverage, the order quality is covered before the shipment. The initial payment of Trade Assurance order is covered. If the product quality does not meet the requirements before shipping, you can apply for refund before shipping. The supplier should respond and offer a solution within 3 days. If the supplier does not respond within 3 days or the issue cannot be resolved within 7 days, the dispute will be escalated to Alibaba.com.
If you choose post-delivery coverage, you could have the product inspected after receiving the order. If the quality does not meet the standards set in your contract, you could still start a quality dispute in 90 days from shipping and 15 days from customs clearance (with the shorter coverage time being valid) if the order is confirmed completion by system. And your order total amount is covered by Trade Assurance.
From Dec 8, 2017, Trade Assurance order protection service has been updated as follows:
All orders are post-delivery covered, and the covered amount is the actual total payment.
Your orders will now be protected up to 30 calendar days after you receive the goods. This means you will now have 30 days to complete product quality inspection when you receive your goods and apply for a refund if the quality does not match the terms of the contract.
